The IET have announced amendments to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
The amendments include but are not limited to:
- RCD - Proposed changes to risk assessment used in non-dwelling installations
- AFDDs - new requirements for mandatory installations
- Chapter 42 - rewritten taking account of fire engineering guidance
- Appendix 13 - designed to assist electricians understand fire engineering terms, escape routes and fire protection
- Chapter 44 - revision regarding transient overvoltages (see bulleted list)
- Part 6 - changes to insulation resistance transient overvoltages
- Part 8 - Chapter 82, BS 7671, Prosumer’s low-voltage installations; energy efficiency, the smart grid, management
of electricity consumption, management of renewable sources of electricity, and energy storage. also provides additional requirements for the design, erection and verification of all low voltage installations.
- Appendix 6 - major changes to model forms to reduce the amount of form filling
As confirmed by City & Guilds on Friday 21st January, The new 2382-22 (Amendment 2) question bank is planned to be available from 28th March 2022, with updates to our 18th Edition Wiring Regulations | City & Guilds 2382-18 (2382) to follow in the first half of April 2022.
Amendments to the exams will be live from mid April 2022.
As per City & Guilds recent press release, there will be a 6 month overlap period where the existing 2382 question bank will remain available.
