Water Hygiene Training Designed for Compliance

Notice

Due to the age of this post some of the information maybe out of date.
Recent events within the healthcare estate have highlighted an even greater requirement for water hygiene training. There should be more understanding surrounding duties, responsibilities and the identification of risks. The latest events have unfortunately involved fatalities in the healthcare estate. After thorough investigations, it was found that inadequate training and inappropriate control measures were a significant contributory factor in these deaths. The subsequent investigations have also found that basic processes and procedures were generally not in place to prevent or control exposure to the infectious bacteria. Legionella is a life-threatening bacterium which can be present in most environments where there is both natural and man-made water systems. Given the nature of the healthcare environment, the bacteria could be prolific in hot and cold-water services due to the size of the plumbing infrastructures, and the potential of not to standard modifications/alterations undertaken over many years. The healthcare environment could leave visitors and patients more susceptible to contracting the disease due to any existing underlying health conditions. Our water hygiene training courses have been specifically designed for HTM compliance (HTM 04-01). The courses have been developed to enable members of staff who have the responsibility to implement processes and procedures so, therefore, ensuring an effective scheme of control to help mitigate the risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria. Our healthcare courses are all City & Guilds accredited, and cover, Legionella Management, Control, Awareness, Hydrotherapy Pool Operation and Management, Introduction to Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Servicing and Testing of Thermostatic Mixing Valves and Training for Hospital Maintenance staff. We deliver training courses from our centres which are ideally located in York and Slough. We also have access to training locations in Scotland, where we provide a select number of courses. In addition, our courses can also be delivered on-site to meet your requirements. View our Legionella (Water Hygiene) training courses here
