Looking Back at Healthcare Estates 2023
As November approaches, we look back at October's very successful Healthcare Estates Conference and Exhibition in Manchester. This year, the event coincided with IHEEM's 80th Anniversary, and therefore, the week of the 9th of October became a week of celebrations, networking and of course, important conversations and conference sessions delivered by those at the forefront of their fields within estates and facilities.
Happy Birthday IHEEM - Monday, 9th October 2023
We were proud to sponsor and speak at IHEEM's 80th Birthday Celebration. The casual evening drinks reception was held at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, where our Managing Director, Gary Cooper, was one of three guest speakers.
A fabulous menu of canapes and complimentary drinks were served to the 300+ guests in attendance. Lauren Ryall-Waite – Head Curator at the Science and Industry Museum gave an opening address, highlighting the history of the museum, the history of some of the machinery and technology on display, and welcomed all to explore the exhibits and take in some of the demonstrations on offer.
IHEEM's Chief Executive Officer, Peter Sellars, delivered a speech highlighting IHEEM's 80 year history, and looked ahead to the institutes future. With work underway to improve and bring up-to-date IHEEM's head office, to match the innovative and industry-leading work that they do.
Our very own Gary Cooper was then invited to the stage, where he highlighted the synergy between IHEEM's 80 year journey, and our own history, starting way back in 2007 at our James Street premises. We presented a quick, whistle-stop tour of our history in a video, which you can view below. Gary was then able to add much more context given his own 10 year history with the company, and provide insights into what is to come for PPL Training in the coming months and years.
How Did We Help IHEEM to Celebrate?
Our involvement in IHEEM's birthday celebrations didn't end there. Once the dust had settled on a successful evening, the next two days (Tuesday, 10th October and Wednesday, 11th October) brought further opportunities for celebration and gratitude. IHEEM's members, Healthcare Estates visitors and other exhibitors were offered the opportunity to share their messages of goodwill and thanks to IHEEM, by visiting the PPL Training stand, and leaving a message in IHEEM's (very large) birthday card!
It was fantastic to see visitors writing in the card at our stand over the course of the two day event, and even better to visit the other exhibitors and discuss what was an incredibly successful event for many.
Surprise! Presenting IHEEM With Their Card
In a rare instance, we were able to surprise IHEEM CEO Peter Sellars, with the presentation of the card to him and the whole IHEEM team. Our Sales Director, Jonathan Eland, was invited onto the stage of the Keynote Theatre to present.
We would like to thank Tania Davies, Alison Ryan and the rest of the IHEEM team for getting on board with our efforts to help IHEEM celebrate their fantastic milestone, and for allowing us on stage to present the card (and a little bit of bubbly) to them, and their team.
Congratulations IHEEM on 80 years. Heres to the next 80!
