Course Overview
Part G3 of the building regulations states that it is a legal requirement that all domestic vented and unvented hot water systems are maintained by a qualified person. On successful completion of this course you will be certified for five years to install, service and commission domestic hot water systems in the UK.

You must place your booking 14 days before the start date of the course.
Who is This Course For?

This BPEC accredited course is aimed at plumbers and heating engineers who wish to gain the relevant certification to enable them to install, service or commission domestic hot water systems in the UK. To be eligible you must:

You MUST be able to provide evidence of one of the following BEFORE attending the course:

Hold a formal craft qualification e.g. National or Scottish Vocational Qualification (NVQ/SNVQ ) Level 2 or 3 in heating engineering or plumbing

OR

Have a number of years' experience in either conventional heating engineering or plumbing ( Please supply evidence to support this statement )

OR

Currently undertaking a course in heating engineering or plumbing which will lead to a formal qualification, such as NVQ level 2 or 3 heating and ventilation or plumbing

Prior to attending this course we recommend you have completed the following or their equivalent and possess:
Formal Craft Qualification.
Formal Heating and Plumbing Qualification.

National Insurance number
Essential that the course manual is studied before attending
Essential that the course self assessment is completed before attending
Books / Manuals - You must bring the following manual: Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
Certificate: You must be able to supply either a copy of a formal craft qualification e.g. NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or 3 in heating engineering or plumbing
Or evidence to support a number of years' experience in either conventional heating engineering or plumbing
Or evidence to support that you are currently undertaking a course in heating engineering or plumbing which will lead to a formal qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 heating and ventilation or plumbing

Kevin Hook

Senior Water Hygiene Training Consultant

Kevin has over 45 years experience in the plumbing and heating industry, as well as over 18 years teaching experience. He began his career as an apprentice and has worked his way up through various plumbing and heating companies. After successfully establishing himself as a plumber, Kevin moved into managing installations at Dolphin Bathroom Ltd before becoming a Project Manager at Wilson & Wright Ltd. Kevin has worked at various training companies as a tutor before joining PPL Training in 2007.
