New Practical Fire Facilities
We are delighted to announce the expansion of our training facilities in York. Introducing a fourth building, this additional building; expands our practical training area, introduces new remote-training rooms and increases our number of classrooms to 13 in York.
The new building brings an additional 7,000+ sq feet of space with an extensive practical facility and will house our new passive fire safety portfolio, providing the knowledge needed for both NHS Estates Engineers and new Fire Safety Advisors.
A large focus of this new building is to provide practical training that will allow you to; drop test dampers, check fire doors and gain a comprehensive understanding of fire stopping. In addition to this, we have installed our "Fire Corridor" which houses a range of demonstration bays showing you a variety of dampers, fire stopping techniques, emergency lights and mounting techniques across a variety of materials. This corridor is comprised of four individual areas, separated by fire doors/fire walls, with a false ceiling housing the ventilation, fire dampers, pipework and cabling - providing you a realistic practical experience.
Keep an eye out for future announcements, as we are excited to share more information with you soon.
New Fire Course Areas
To supplement the expansion of our new practical training facilities, we have expanded upon our fire safety training portfolio. Our newest courses will focus on; Fire Dampers – and their testing requirements, Fire Doors – and their inspection requirements, and Fire Stopping (or Compartmentation) – and their survey requirements.
This range of new courses will be a welcome addition to our already established fire safety offering (Escape Lighting and Fire Alarms/ Detection), bringing over 15 years of training experience to the fire safety industry.
