The Elizabeth Line and PPL Training

You may be aware of a new rail service coming to London and the surrounding area, to be officially known as The Elizabeth Line. Transport for London have confirmed that the new line will be fully operational from 24th May and will service Central London and peripheral areas, including Slough! 

The overall route can be seen below:

The Reading to Paddington section of the route is already operational, and means that journeys from Reading to Slough take approximately 10-20 minutes. 

The real benefits are seen when comparing existing travel times in areas where the line is not yet open. For example, Paddington to Slough currently takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the time of travel. The new Elizabeth Line will ensure that passengers will be able to make the same journey in 26 minutes.

Transport for London commissioner, Andy Byford said:

“You will be able to get from Canary Wharf to Heathrow in around 40 minutes, Liverpool Street to Paddington in 11 minutes, it will be completely transformative…

It will be a huge morale boost to London post-Covid. This to me is the ultimate symbol of the city’s emergence from Covid, this beautiful state-of-the-art railway which will serve us for many, many years to come.”

This is very exciting news for delegates attending courses at any of our Slough centres, as they are all within walking distance of Slough station (approximately 30 minutes away on foot), or can be reached via taxi in less than 10 minutes.
