WATCH: We Spoke to Claire Hewitt, Owner of Legionella Solutions Northeast

Client Case Studies

How Have We Helped Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs)?

As a small business owner, Claire has a lot on her plate. From day-to-day administrative tasks, to the work she loves. In her case being out on-site assessing risks associated with Legionella.

Here are just some of the ways that we have helped Claire and her clients with their Legionella (Water Hygiene) training requirements:

Training That Inspires

Something as simple as a 3 day Risk Assessment for Legionella and Water Hygiene Control in Water Systems is all an entrepreneurial minded individual may need to start their own business journey.

Before you take the plunge and set up your own business though, it is important to gain the right experience and qualifications.

Our friendly account managers can help you to plan the next logical step in your career path.

Excellent Delivery

It's not just a catchphrase, we really do strive to deliver excellence as standard.

Our knowledgeable and experienced team of tutors can, within reason, cater their delivery to suit your individual understanding of the subject matter and overall learning style.

Just as they did with Claire at the start of her journey.

This is not to disregard any pre-requisites of certain courses, and will be within the tolerances our 3rd party commitments, such as City & Guilds Assured or BPEC Accreditation requirements.

Relationship Building

Claire spoke very highly of Tony Green, our resident Water Hygiene Training Manager.

In truth, our in-centre training courses offer unparalleled opportunities for networking and relationship building within your chosen discipline or field of expertise. A key benefit that was also highlighted recently by our HV/LV Electrical Systems Training Manager, Graham Taylor:

“The biggest advantage of coming to one of our centres for an open course date is networking. The variety of like-minded people and cumulative knowledge that can be gained, outside of that being passed on by our tutors, is sometimes worth the course admission fee itself.”

Investing In Your Future

Training for SMEs can be a tough balancing act, with so much emphasis placed on efficiency and the potential opportunities lost whilst spending time in the classroom.

But training is a necessary investment for any company or individual looking to continually improve.

It is an investment that will pay you back in knowledge, but in doing so, you must invest time.

It is important to remember that the ability to react to spikes in demand, or even generate that demand yourself, can be linked directly to your own knowledge and understanding of your field.

So, be prepared, get the training you need today.

Stay On Top of Guidance and Legislation Changes

We understand the challenges presented by changes in legislation and guidance. Knowing where to start and importantly where to stop is incredibly important.

Our suite of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Safe Systems of Work and M&E Technical Compliance training courses, as well as Legionella (Water Hygiene), F-Gas Handling and Fire Safety to name a few, all cover sections of internationally recognised standard documents, numerous safety acts, industry specific guidance and building notes.

We are committed to ensuring that the information within our course documents is relevant and up-to-date.

We stay on top of these, so that you don't have to.

The Importance of SMEs.

It can be argued that SMEs are the backbone of the UK economy.

The UK Government defines a Small to Medium Enterprise as a company with either 0-49 employees (Small Business) or 50-249 employees (Medium Enterprise).

In early 2024, The UK Government estimated that there are nearly 9,000 SMEs working in "Mining, Electricity, Gas, Water Supply, Sewerage & Waste Management". With 195,860 businesses categorised as "Construction", 188,590 as "Professional Services" and a further 88,200 as "Manufacturing".

Within each of these pre-defined sectors, we can offer training and support in a number of disciplines.
