This course is aimed at those who are involved in the servicing and testing of Thermostatic Mixer Valves (TMV’s).

  • Medical Aspects of Scalding, Consequences, Examples and Vulnerability
  • Legal Aspects/Consequences of Scalding
  • Outline Relevant Non Statutory Documents, Review of 04-01 Supplement and D08, Role of the Duty Holder, Role of the Competent Responsible Person
  • Review of Water Regulations Requirements
  • Engineering Aspects of TMVs, Where and When Required, Correct Methods of Positioning and Installation
  • Discuss Main Points of D08, 04-01 Supplement and HSG 274 Part 2 Hot and Cold Water Systems, Temperatures
  • Review What Engineering and Management Controls are necessary
  • Correct use and Testing of Digital Thermometers. Demonstrate Temperature Checking at the Outlet
  • Commissioning TMVs
  • Servicing and Testing Requirements
  • Checking Failsafe Mechanisms
